RED WEATHER WARNING
Rare red weather warning as Storm Éowyn poses danger to life:
The rare warnings for wind mean flying debris could cause a danger to life, with gusts up to 100mph (161km/h) along some exposed coasts.
The Met Office has issued a red alert, which covers all of Northern Ireland from 7am, on Friday, 24/01/2025 until 2pm.
It is a warning of "very dangerous conditions" and "widespread disruption".
The advice from the Met Office is to stay at home and avoid all non-essential travel.
Owing to this, our office cover will be disrupted.
Staff may need to rearrange home visits, or inspections at short notice. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
Our contractors may not be able to attend to emergency callouts as quickly as normal, this owing to the adverse weather conditions and safety considerations for their own staff.
However, once the weather settles, the service will return to normal.
Thanks for reading, and hoping you stay safe.
Best regards
